Overnight Oatmeal

With this dish you can be creative, any fruit will work, for example, I usually use fruits like banana, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, apple, and strawberry. You can keep it simple with just a banana or with a bunch of fruit. You can add flax seeds, chia seeds, cinnamon powder, almond meal, buckwheat, almond slices, or even peanut butter. I actually did 5 different fruits before, obviously I had to use a little bit of each but I got them in there. Whatever you do I am sure this will taste good. Here is the usual one I make:

  • 1 sliced banana
  • 3 blackberries
  • 3 raspberries
  • handful of blueberries
  • cinnamon
  • unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • gluten free oats
  • 1/4 cup yogurt (optional)  (any flavor, even plain, watch the sugar, most yogurts have a ton of sugar and chemicals)

How I do it:

I take a mason jar, or bowl with lid, or you can use a cup/bowl and put a little plate over it. I put 1/4-1/2 cup of dried oats on the bottom, then I add the yogurt, fruit, and seeds. Then that is when I pour the milk over everything until its covered like 1/2-1 inch above the mixture. If you are using a mason jar after you pour the milk in wait like 20 seconds to see if the milk goes down then pour more in to the top and put lid on and shake it and put in fridge and this will be ready in the morning. If you are using a bowl or cup just mix with spoon and put the top over it and put in fridge.
